Cavities don’t start on teeth. They start when conditions in your mouth make enamel more vulnerable. That’s why Gel 1100 takes a multi-pronged approach to protection.

Fluoride and nano-hydroxyapatite work together to support enamel. Xylitol helps support a tooth-friendly oral environment. Proprietary pH-support technology helps maintain healthier conditions after brushing.

The result is a high-performance toothpaste designed to do more than clean—it’s designed to help keep you one step ahead of cavities.

What makes CariFree Gel 1100 different from other fluoride toothpastes?
CariFree Gel 1100 combines four key technologies in a single formula: fluoride, nanoXIM® nano-hydroxyapatite, xylitol, and proprietary pH-support technology. Together, they support cavity protection, enamel health, and a healthier oral environment.
What is nano-hydroxyapatite?
Nano-hydroxyapatite is a lab-created mineral that closely resembles the natural mineral structure found in tooth enamel. CariFree uses medical-grade nanoXIM® nano-hydroxyapatite from FLUIDINOVA, a trusted leader in nano-hydroxyapatite technology.
Why does oral pH matter?
When oral pH drops, teeth become more vulnerable to acid challenges. CariFree products are designed to help support a healthier oral pH because cavity prevention starts long before a cavity is visible.
Is Gel 1100 safe for everyday use?
Yes. Gel 1100 is designed for daily use and is recommended for adults and children ages 2 and older when used as directed.
Is Gel 1100 good for dry mouth?
Yes. Gel 1100 features a mild, moisturizing gel formula that many people with dry mouth find comfortable for daily use.
What is RDA 40?
RDA stands for Relative Dentin Abrasivity, a measure of how abrasive a toothpaste is.Gel 1100 has an RDA of 40, making it a low-abrasion toothpaste designed to clean effectively while remaining gentle on enamel.
Why does CariFree use both fluoride and nano-hydroxyapatite?
They serve different roles and work well together. Fluoride supports cavity protection, while nano-hydroxyapatite supports enamel health. CariFree combines both in a single formula to provide a more complete approach to daily oral care.
What concentration of nano-hydroxyapatite is used?
Our focus isn’t on using the highest percentage possible. It’s using the highest-quality nano-hydroxyapatite available. While we don’t disclose exact formula percentages, we believe quality matters more than concentration alone.
Research suggests that particle size, shape, and stability all influence how nano-hydroxyapatite performs. That’s why CariFree has used nanoXIM® by FLUIDINOVA since 2012, a clinically studied, medical-grade nano-hydroxyapatite designed specifically for oral care.
What are the natural flavors listed in the ingredients?
The natural flavor used in Mint Gel 1100 is spearmint oil. We chose spearmint oil because it provides a clean, refreshing flavor that people enjoy using every day. Consistency is one of the most important factors in oral health, and taste plays a significant role in maintaining a daily brushing routine.
Some consumers have questions about essential oils and the oral microbiome. CariFree’s approach is to formulate products that support long-term oral health through pH management, fluoride, nano-hydroxyapatite, and xylitol. Spearmint oil is used primarily as a flavoring ingredient within the formula, helping create a brushing experience people enjoy and use consistently.
Why did the ingredients change from alphabetical to by order of concentration? Did the formula change?
The formula has not changed. The Gel 1100 is both a cosmetic and OTC drug, to improve transparency for our customers, we chose to follow cosmetic labeling requirements 21 CFR § 701.3, “The label on each package of a cosmetic shall bear a declaration of the name of each ingredient in descending order of predominance…”
Does CariFree Gel 1100 contain any animal ingredients?
No, there are no animal-based ingredients in the CariFree products.
What is the source of glycerin?
Our glycerin is derived from palm.
What is the source of starch?
Our starch is made from corn.
What are the natural flavors listed in the ingredients?
Our natural flavoring in the mint Gel 1100 is spearmint oil.
What is the source of silica?
Our silica is precipitated silicon dioxide (mineral).
Why do you use fluoride with nano-hydroxyapatite instead of n-HA alone?
Fluoride and nano-hydroxyapatite together create fluorapatite, which is more resistant to demineralization, a huge bonus when the goal is prevention.
What is the source of xylitol?
Our xylitol is sourced from non-GMO corn. Xylitol is naturally found in many fruits and vegetables, and corn is one of the most common and sustainable commercial sources.
