We’ll be honest, this one’s strong! If you’re experiencing or at-risk for cavities, it’s due to an overpopulation of cavity-causing bacteria in the biofilm. Our Treatment Rinse is specifically designed to treat and balance those bacteria along with neutralizing the pH and promoting a healthy biofilm to further reduce your risk of new cavities. This product is truly a game-changer for your dental health!

Directions
Directions
When using Treatment Rinse, it’s recommended to wait at least 60 minutes before eating or drinking to avoid surface stains and/or use at night only.
Rinse with 10mL daily. Using the measuring cup, combine 5 mL of component A with 5 mL of component B (10 mL total). Vigorously swish the combined 10 mL of rinse between teeth for one minute, then spit out. Do not dilute or rinse with component A or component B alone.
No, the rinse should be combined right before use.
How long should I use this rinse?
While this is based on each individual’s risk factors, the average treatment protocol lasts for 3-6 months.
I have some rinse leftover in Bottle A, can I buy another?
Unfortunately, we’re unable to sell either bottle of this two-part rinse alone. Bottle B is filled with the correct number of doses; any leftover rinse in Bottle A can be discarded.
What ingredient is treating the cavity-causing bacteria?
Our Treatment Rinse contains .2% sodium hypochlorite, which works as an antibacterial to treat and balance the bacteria that cause cavities and shift the biofilm to health.
Why is my apple flavored rinse not completely clear?
There may be slight color variations in Apple flavored Treatment Rinse due to the organic apple flavoring, which can vary slightly depending on the apple crop used.
What is the source of xylitol?
Our xylitol is made from corn.
What is the pH?
When parts A&B are mixed, the pH of the Treatment Rinse is ~10.

Review by Sonja H. on 19 Feb 2025review stating Grateful for the product but one issue
I love this product and have been using the mouth wash and toothpaste for almost a year now. As someone with compromised enamel it’s so helpful. My one qualm is that it used to be both parts of the mouthwash were clear and now one is colored. This would be fine expect it stains my teeth so badly! I really wish they would go back to the old formula...Read MoreRead more about I love this product and have been

My dentist suggested that I use CariFree Treatment Rinse to help fight cavities and improve my dental health. He mentioned that the taste of the rinse might bother some people. However, I find it easy to get used to and have been using it daily for about 3 weeks now. CariFree

A: Thanks for your question! Generally, customers will use the Treatment Rinse for 3-6 months before switching to a maintenance protocol. We want to make sure your risk is lower, no current decay, before switching to using the Maintenance Rinse.

Q: I'm kind of confused because there are different directions on different cards. I'm using the Treatment Rinse and the gel. I use them only once a day, in the evening. Am I supposed to use them both twice a day? Morning and night?(There's a card insert that says when using both gel and rinse, to only use them once a day, and the regular toothpaste/mouthwash in the morning.) But in the questions here you state you recommend twice a day. Also... Do I have to wait 30 minutes between doing the rinse and brushing my teeth? I am in the middle of an Invisalign treatment, so I can't exactly spend a lot of time with my aligners out. Thanks.

A: Great questions; we label our products for individual sale. However, we suggest rinsing first and brushing second so that the remineralizing ingredients in the gel are the last thing on your teeth. You do not need to wait to brush after rinsing, and you can brush two times daily and rinse 1-2 times daily, depending on your preference or the dentist's recommendation.

Q: Is CTx4 safe during pregnancy? I’ve developed gingivitis thanks to pregnancy hormones, and my dentist suggested this rinse. But it seems the second bottle is bleach and that doesn’t seem safe...
CariFree
07/19/23
A: Yes, because the products are not ingested there is no contraindication for pregnancy. The sodium hypochlorite in the rinse is also at a very low concentration of .2%. We also recommend checking with your OB if you have any concerns!

Q: Please explain the difference between treatment rinse and maintenance rinse. The bottles sold to me by my dentist are labeled "PRO PRE-RINSE".
CariFree
06/12/23
A: Thanks for your question! The Treatment Rinse is our recommendation for those at high risk for cavities, or anyone with current cavities, as it kills germs and can address the cavity-causing bacteria. The Maintenance Rinse is a daily rinse for those without cavities wanting to help maintain their low risk.

Q: I just received my order and on the back of the box it says to use once daily after brushing but here on the website it says to use before brushing, so which is it?
CariFree
05/08/23
A: When using our tooth gels and rinses, we do recommend rinsing first and brushing second to allow the remineralizing fluoride and nano hydroxyapatite time on the teeth before being rinsed away. If only using our rinse, you can choose which order works best for you!

Q: I just started using your products. How many times a day should you do the combination treatment/maintenance rinse? Is once a day enough?
CariFree
04/25/23
A: Hello, thanks for reaching out. Each rinse is used for different treatment protocols, there is no need to use both in the same day unless otherwise recommended by a dental provider. You will switch to the Maintenance Rinse after 3-6 months of using the Treatment Rinse in the evenings. Please reach out to info@carifree.com if you have any other questions!

CariFree

A: Thanks for your question! In 2005, the ADA stopped offering the seal for professional products, so this is not something we will be looking to pursue.

Q: Can I drink water after 30 min or do I have to wait 1 hour to prevent staining?
CariFree
05/11/22
A: Water after 30 minutes is fine! The concern is more with anything that causes staining, such as coffee or tea.

Q: how long should you use the treatment rinse for? so each box lasts for 11 days. and do you use the gel and CTX rinse once you discontinue the treatment rinse.
CariFree
02/24/22
A: Thanks for your message! Treatment time can depend on your risk factors; most dental practices will recommend a 1-2 month treatment time. After that it is recommended to use the Gel 1100 and/or the Maintenance Rinse to maintain a low risk long-term.
