Why did these Ancient Romans have perfect teeth?

Amazing information about Ancient Romans who died in Pompeii is surfacing. Researchers in Italy are performing CAT scans on the ancient remains, cast in plaster. The information from the 86 victims are revealing information about “…their age, sex, what they ate, what diseases they had and what class of society they belonged to,” Massimo Osanna, archaeological superintendent of Pompeii told CNN. One of the most intriguing finds is that Ancient Romans seem to have had near perfect teeth. Researchers attribute their celebrity-status smiles to a diet low in sugar; perhaps another great lesson we can take away from the Ancient Romans?
